INTRODUCING THE RESIDENCY MATCH TOOLKITS
THE RESIDENCY HERO PHILOSOPHY
Be 10% Better.
This isn't your mentor's residency match ...
When I started as a residency coordinator back in the early aughts, we only got around 40 applications for every position we offered.
By the time I left, we were getting 75 applications. And it's no secret that the move to a virtual match has only increased the number of applications flooding program inboxes. How do you stand out?
By making your application incrementally better.
And if you're an IMG, it's even tougher. In my opinion, IMGs need to be a minimum of 10% better than US candidates to get the same interview opportunities. I created my toolkits to bridge that gap.
There are two types of people in the world
1) People who love figuring out every detail themselves
2) People who'd rather bring in an expert so that they can get fast answers, fast support and fast implementation
I created the toolkits for the second kind of person. They're the result of 15 years of wisdom, distilled into micro-trainings of lighting-fast, actionable content
Perfect for US grads
Because the type of writing you're trained to do in medical school is the opposite of what will help you in the residency match.
The missing piece for IMGs
Let's face it, the US match process can be confusing. Consider these toolkits the missing manuals that fill in the gaps for international medical graduates.
ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Kristin.
No, I'm not a doctor. I've just been surrounded by them my whole life.
I spent 15 years as a residency coordinator at a top ranked program at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine.
As a teenager, I worked summers in my mother's practice. She's been a family practice doc for 46 years.
My stepfather was a thoracic surgeon. The closest I came to a medical career myself was when I helped him operate on a piglet on his brother's farm (it's a long story...my assistance mostly consisted of blotting pig blood, wiping the sweat from his brow and telling him that he was doing a fantastic job).
I attended Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, where I gained an appreciation for "foreign" cultures, and the nuances of intercultural relations. Several years spent working in the international department of a New York film studio gave me a respect for great storytelling.
I know how to help you craft a narrative that will let you control the residency conversation. You don't have to do this alone. I'm devoted to sharing my best strategies, tips and tricks so that you can position yourself as a high-value recruit who naturally attracts residency programs!
